Dr. Robert Carson
Dr. Robert Carson is a native of Port Huron, MI and went on to attend Kalamazoo College where he earned a B.A. in Health Sciences. In 2009 he received his Doctor of Osteopathy from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at McLaren Macomb Hospital. Dr. Carson has experience as a general orthopedic surgeon and is currently practicing non operative orthopedics due to an injury. He specializes in using a variety of conservative treatments for disorders of the musculoskeletal system in order for patients to return to doing the activities that they enjoy. Some of these treatments include physical therapy, modification of training techniques, injection therapy, bracing, immobilization and casting. Dr. Carson also recognizes when surgical management is necessary to achieve the best outcome for patients and is happy to refer patients on to a colleague who specializes in the surgical procedure they require. He enjoys seeing patients of all ages and fostering long lasting relationships with patients and their families while taking care of their orthopedic needs whether from wear and tear of aging or the competitive athlete.
Dr. Carson is an Assistant Clinical Professor for Michigan State University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine and works closely with medical students developing the clinical skills that will provide the foundation for their medical careers. In his free time Dr. Carson enjoys spending time with his growing family, cooking, golfing and attending sporting events.
